My very personal rant (Warning).... with an interesting citation from Adrenaline Vault's review of the game...

SLOW, SLOW, SLOW....

can't anybody say something positive about it?
I put quite lot of work into it to make all
the textures, transparency and blending effects
to work and was happy as a child when almost
everything worked, and now nobody (of 2 people till now?) says:
oh the textures are nice,....it really looks nice...
blabla... Everyone is only complaining
about performance which I think is not that bad for
a totally unoptimized emulation...
If I would know only your comments, I would think
this driver is dead slow and you can't play with
it. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
Actually, at least my family plays for
already two days with the driver, and we are happy
with it.... I find everything looks VERY GOOD and the
performance was much lousier in software mode (320x240)!
And remember, this was the ONLY option for
Rendition owners until now!
Hey, this is the first GLIDE game which is
PLAYABLE for V2K owners! Does really nobody
care for it? Hey, wake up!!!
Don't you think that at least the pink, transparent
jello puddings look great?????
Or that some of the colored lighting effects (e.g.
on Croc himself) in the dark caves look nice?
Oh,....

As for the speed:
Here is an excerpt from Adrenaline vault's otherwise VERY POSITIVE
Croc review (http://www.avault.com/reviews/croc.asp, page 2):

...More than once I was encouraged to
slow down and devour a bit of eye-candy, such as the transparent waterfalls, or the Gobbos trapped underwater in floating
bubbles. The dynamic, colored lighting is subtle, yet amazing. Stand Croc under a hurling ball of lava and watch the light
play across his face. When you rescue a Gobbo, you will be treated to a swirling, kaleidoscopic shower of colored stars, all of
which mix flawlessly against Croc and the surrounding area. The characters are smoothly animated, though (with the
exception of Croc), are a bit chunky, and have a few too many jagged edges. If you have a 3D accelerator card, all of this is
rendered with striking detail and nearly no pixelation.....

.....and here it comes:

I was surprised, however, with the noticeable drop in framerate during
anything but the most simple scenarios. I ran the game in 640x480 with high quality lighting, and experienced frequent
slowdowns. Given the scope of Tomb Raider 2, which runs on my system with consistent smoothness, I was astonished by the
inability of Croc to handle much smaller arenas.

This was reviewed on a Voodoo!!!

Really nothing positive so far?
Bjorn?? Please help...
I feel a little depressed....
